Statement from Lt. Gov. Heck on Sen. David Frockt retirement in 2022

“I am deeply saddened Senator David Frockt will be retiring from the Washington State Senate at the end of 2022. The 46th Legislative District is losing an effective and powerful voice in Olympia, and the Legislature is losing a hardworking, thoughtful problem solver. Senator Frockt’s public service has always been rooted in his values: opportunity, equality, justice, health, truth, and representative democracy itself. To that end, I urge every civic-minded Washingtonian to read and take to heart the message in Senator Frockt’s retirement letter. No matter our partisan affiliation or ideological preferences, we as Washingtonians must protect our elections and democratic institutions from the scourge of misinformation and lies infecting our political discourse. The best antidote to this poison is diligent, honest, open-minded public servants like my friend David. I will miss him dearly in the Senate, and I wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”
