Disability Employment

The Lt. Governor’s Office is working to ensure that people with disabilities and their family members are aware of and properly connected to all resources currently at their disposal. As someone who is blind, the Lt. Governor knows that access to the appropriate materials and resources can make a large difference in quality of life, achieving success, and contributing positively to Washington state society.

Please see below for essential resources:

U.S. Department of Labor Disability Resources : The U.S. DOL has compiled a list of disability resources that cover available benefits, Civil Rights, Community Life, Education, and Employment.

Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) : Also through the DOL, the Office of Disability Employment Policy is the only non-regulatory federal agency that promotes policies and coordinates with employers and all levels of government to increase workplace success for people with disabilities.

Disability Determination Services : The Disability Determination Services is contracted to the Social Security Administration to adjudicate medical eligibility for disability benefits under Social Security Disability Insurance and Supplemental Security Income rules and regulations.
