TVW's series Engaged: Students Becoming Citizens focused on the Legislative Youth Advisory Council in 2009. The 38-minute piece follows LYAC's top five legislative priorities through the legislative process.

LYAC consists of twenty-two members from around the State of Washington who, at the time of appointment, are ages fourteen to eighteen.  Members serve two-year terms and if eligible, may be reappointed for subsequent two-year terms.
