Signifying the close of
2008 Legislative session
Lt. Gov. Brad Owen pounds his gavel at the
Senate rostrum on March 13, signifying the
end of
the 60-day legislative session for 2008. Gov. Chris Gregoire, in
purple at right, joined the lieutenant governor in Senate chambers for
Sine Die, which is timed for
unison with the House of Representatives. Immediately to the right
of Owen are Juliette Schindler Kelly, his chief of staff, with the
lieutenant governor's wife Linda Owen behind. To the far left is Tom
Hoemann, secretary of the Senate and Marty Lovinger, Senate counsel.
