On Wednesday, March 22, the Washington State Senate will introduce a resolution in honor of the Persian New Year, Nowruz.

The public is invited to join the festivities, first in the Senate Gallery, to watch the introduction of the resolution at 10:00 a.m. on the Senate floor.

Following the resolution’s introduction, Lt. Gov. Cyrus Habib will host a reception in the Senate Rules Room. Please see the invitation below for additional details.

Nowruz is celebrated at the time of the spring equinox, which falls on March 20 this year. It is celebrated by nearly 300 million people across the globe, of different faiths and diverse communities, and by more than 1 million Iranian-Americans.
