Lt. Gov. Habib stopped by the 2017 Legislative Day for Allied Daily Newspapers and the Washington Newspapers Association on the Capitol’s campus Friday, emphasizing the importance of a free and fair press and the value of high-quality information in today’s political climate.
“I know it’s difficult right now, when your job is to be impartial, to be under attack for telling the truth,” said Habib. He encouraged Washington state journalists to continue their dedication to capturing the truth, and persevering in the face of contemporary journalism challenges.
Habib also highlighted his commitment to transparency, and his gratitude for the work of the press on a daily basis.
